Andrew P. O'Shea, assigned counsel, in support of the petition.

Theresa Anne Ferryman, senior assistant state's attorney, in opposition.

The petitioner Jamie R. Gomez' petition for certification to appeal from the Appellate Court, 178 Conn. App. 519, 176 A.3d 559 (2017), is granted, limited to the following issues:

"1. Did the Appellate Court properly reject the petitioner's claim that his due process rights were violated because the state knowingly presented false testimony during his criminal trial?

"2. Did the Appellate Court properly determine that the petitioner's right to the effective assistance of counsel was not violated by virtue of his trial counsel's failure to cross-examine certain state's witnesses about consideration that those witnesses had been promised by the state in return for their testimony?"

KAHN, J., did not participate in the consideration of or decision on this petition.
