ORDER DISMISSING APPEAL
This is a pro se appeal from a district court order appointing a temporary guardianship. First Judicial District Court, Carson City; James E. Wilson, Judge.
Review of the notice of appeal and documents before this court reveals a jurisdictional defect. This court may only consider appeals authorized by statute or rule. Brown v. MHC Stagecoach, LLC, 129 Nev. 343, 345, 301 P.3d 850, 851 (2013). Appellant's notice of appeal purports to challenge a district court order appointing a temporary guardianship. However, no statute or court rule authorizes such an appeal. See In re Guardianship of Wittier, 135 Nev. 237, 238-39, 445 P.3d 852, 854 (2019) (dismissing an appeal from a temporary guardianship order, noting that "this court has consistently concluded that temporary orders subject to periodic review are not appealable" and "temporary guardianship orders are unsuitable for appellate review").
Further, although appellant's notice of appeal states that the district court's order appointing a temporary guardianship is a "final judgment," it appears from documents before this court that the parties' dispute over the guardianship remains pending below. See Lee v. GNLV Corp., 116 Nev. 424, 426, 996 P.2d 416, 417 (2000) (defining a final judgment). Accordingly, this court lacks jurisdiction and ORDERS this appeal DISMISSED.
