         Petition for review granted. The issue to be briefed and argued is limited to the following: Can a public agency's release of liability for recreational activities be effective as to ordinary negligence under Civil Code section 1668, as interpreted by Tunkl v. University of California (1963) 60 Cal.2d 92, 32 Cal.Rptr. 33, 383 P.2d 441, but not as to gross negligence?

         WERDEGAR, J., was absent and did not participate.

         GEORGE, C.J., KENNARD, BAXTER, CHIN, MORENO, and CORRIGAN, JJ., concur.
